Description
Woods used in this piece were collected from timberland near Springbrook State Park in Central Iowa. Wood could be from a variety of trees native to Iowa; Pine, Ash, Walnut, Wild Cherry, Oak and several other kinds. Pieces are logged, selected for quality and dried for several years prior to being cut for a new abstract design. The pieces of wood may be stained or painted with various types of finish. Some stains are homemade from various ingredients harvested from the Iowa landscape such as walnuts, acorns, beans, beets, etc.
This piece measures 10″ x 10″ with a 1 1/2″ frame. The individual pieces of wood are either stained or painted. The back is covered with a flat surface with a hang hook installed.
The local artist admits it is fun and not work in collecting the wood, experimenting in creating new wood stains , designing the piece as it is created. Each piece’s design is original and one-of-a-kind. The individual design may fit your family room or best hanging in the bedroom- you decide. It’s a one time creation- you be creative in placing it in your home or office.
