Back is stained but unfinished with no design, and sides are also stained and/or painted depending on design and style.
My signs are recommended for indoor use, or displayed on a covered porch, door, or entryway. Direct sunlight may cause your sign to age more quickly. Do not hang this where direct water can hit it.
All of Freitags Farmhouse signs are made from high quality wood. Each wood sign will vary slightly from the pictures as each is real wood, and real wood will have knots, crevices, and other imperfections. And is cut by hand! This is what adds character to every piece and makes each sign unique. Also note that the same stain/paint is used on each sign, however each piece of wood will soak/stain differently so the colors may vary. Discounts will not be given for wood imperfections.
