Located within a block of the Mississippi River in quaint McGregor, Paper Moon is a charming book and gift shop. The boutique opened its doors in 1994 and operates out of a historic 1860s brick building on Main Street. A large crescent moon sign hangs over the doorway, inviting guests to peer inside.

It is three floors filled with amazing art ephemera, stickers, books, special gifts, and more. If you are looking for a special gift, Paper Moon has one-of-a-kind items that are sure to delight. Mother-daughter duo Louise White and Jennifer White are the proprietors of Paper Moon. They are overseen by their feline shop assistants Sol and Ruby They love finding items that make people smile, so their inventory is constantly changing. Current finds evoke the popular TV show Schitt’s Creek, a plushie COVID-19 Christmas ornament, and the feisty cast of Golden Girls. “We’re always looking for something that’s more unique. Something that you won’t find in the big box stores,” said Jennifer in a La Crosse Tribune article.
